In remembrance of our beloved Mascot "Leo" - He was a star for
pet safety
|

|
“Leo”
was our star for pet safety that traveled by plane, train, boat
and automobile all over the United States during his career with
Firefighters and their mascot "Sparky“. He was a real
trooper and would make appearances to help educate pet owners of
the problems and dangers for pets left “home alone"
and/or when traveling without proper information. Leo also
helped Canine & Animal Control Officers in educating pet
owners on disaster preparedness and first aid information in the
Orange County Pet Safety Days. "Leo" also appeared on
several national and local TV/Cable stations sharing his quest
and spreading the word about pet safety since 1991.
|
| Please
help us continue Leo's journey to help educate pet owners about
being "pet alert" and give your pets a lifeline to
safety with proper information. Please plan ahead and have
on hand at all times at least two weeks of your pet's medicine,
food, and bottled water in case of an emergency situation; such
as a fire, earthquake, bad winter storm or evacuation.
Remember to have leashes and carriers ready for evacuation
too.
Show your love for your pets by
making sure they always wear a collar & I.D. Tag, even
if they live indoors. That way, if they accidentally get out of
your house or yard, the information on their tag will help find
their way home!
“Be
Pet Alert!”
Your pets future depends on many things,
but mostly on YOU!

Leo was an
incredible Flame Point Siamese Rumpie and passed away in
November 2002 from a heart condition. Leo suffered with
many physical handicaps during his 13 years, but will always be
remembered for his undying love for life and his spirit to
overcome what limitations God gave him. Most of all, he
will be remembered for the strength and courage he exhibited and
taught to many people - that no matter what life brings you, be
thankful, because you have your life and love to give, and that
is a precious gift.
Leo will be
remembered by all who knew him as a little man in a cat’s
body, who his veterinarians called the "Miracle Cat".
"Leo" you
are missed, sleep well for you deserve it.
With Love, Cameron
and all your friends
